Braving The Caverns

Updated: Oct 27, 2021

The Tunnels:

In this place, you feel like you are submerged into a maze. One that you feel like you may never get out of. You start to question if you will ever see the sunlight again, or if all hope is lost.

It’s very easy to lose a sense of hope when the shadows whisper in your ears and each tunnel that leads to a dead-end only reinforces the fact you may never make it out of here alive.

These tunnels may be complex, but they aren’t impossible to journey.

If you want to see the light, you need to find your light.

Finding Your Light:

We all have a light inside of us, you may have witnessed it before. It is a place where you feel like the strongest, confident, and sincere you. We all experience those emotions differently so your versions may be slightly or drastically different.

Your light is like a torch, one that will help you find your way out of these tunnels. But the only way to find it is by turning into the self.

I have talked about this in some of my other meditations. Essentially by turning inward, you can learn how to navigate the self, by navigating the self first, you will find your way out of the tunnels.

When you have this torch, this sense of self, you know yourself, you know what you stand for, it guides your way.

Now light your torch.

Braving the Tunnels:

This isn’t going to be easy, but it’s going to free you. For years, you may have felt trapped, stuck, and like you were caught in a cycle of agony.

Now that you have this torch, now that you have navigated your mind, your fears won’t have as much power over you. Remember, the shadows cast on the walls will play tricks on you, so remember who you are, remember why you are here and why you need to make it out. Channel that feeling into your courage. Be relentless.

The reflections in the puddles throughout the cave are deceiving, different sides of you may look you in the eyes, and you may mistake the moonlight for an escape, but it’s light on the water.

The brightest stars need the deepest darkness to show their shine.

Don’t get so caught in the darkness that you don’t see the light.

Surfacing The Cave:

These tunnels aren’t all darkness.

Darkness cannot survive without light, and the same goes for who we are.

We are balanced creatures, we have sides to ourselves that we may never have thought were possible.

But it is the sides that you choose to express and associate with that make you who you truly are.

When you surface these caverns, you will be a completely different person. Though you will be more of the person behind the torch.

It may not seem like it, but these tunnels strengthen us, they require us to stay sharp, aware, and on our feet.

When you step out onto the shoreline, the winds will pass, the smell of the sea will be brisk and the horizon will be lit by sundown.

Take a minute to breathe, and you may realize...

That you have found more of yourself than you may have expected.
